NBA TV heads to Europe Saturday, September 30 2006
NBA TV will televise eight games from NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™, the NBA’s most extensive international initiative. The network will tip off its coverage with a doubleheader when the Philadelphia 76ers meet FC Barcelona in Barcelona, Spain, and the San Antonio Spurs face Adecco ASVEL Lyon in Lyon, France, on Thursday, Oct. 5. Besides televising eight games, NBA TV also will provide in-depth coverage of the events with reports airing from Barcelona; Cologne, Germany; Moscow and Paris throughout the event.
 
As part of the NBA’s multi-media approach to NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™, NBA.com will showcase an exclusive live webcast of the San Antonio Spurs vs. Adecco ASVEL Lyon game on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 3 p.m. ET.
 
NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™ will feature four NBA teams conducting training camps in Europe for the first time and competing against top Euroleague basketball teams in a series of exhibition games in seven cities and five countries. The Spurs will host camp and play games in Lyon and Paris; the 76ers will be in Barcelona; the Phoenix Suns will be in Treviso and Rome; and the Los Angeles Clippers will be in Moscow. The program will culminate with the Suns and 76ers playing exhibition games in Cologne against the Euroleague finalists – CSKA Moscow and Maccabi Tel Aviv.
 
In addition to NBA TV’s game coverage of NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™, ESPN2 will air two games live. On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the network will present the 76ers vs. the Suns game in Cologne at 3 p.m. ET (re-air at 8:30 p.m. ET). ESPN2 then will televise the winner of the CSKA Moscow vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv game against the winner of Tuesday’s Sixers vs. Suns game on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 3 p.m. ET (re-air at 8:30 p.m. ET).
 
Throughout the event, NBA TV’s Andre Aldridge will provide reports twice daily (9 a.m. ET, 4 p.m. ET) from Barcelona, Moscow, Paris and Cologne beginning Thursday, Oct. 5, and running through the conclusion of the event on Wednesday, Oct. 11. In addition, Aldridge will present a recap of the day’s major events, featuring exclusive interviews with players and coaches from Europe, from Oct. 3-6 and from Oct. 10-11.
 
NBA Europe Live presented by EA SPORTS™ also will help tip off the third season of NBA TV’s Real Training Camp, the network’s all-access coverage of all 30 NBA training camps. The network will first visit the New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets on Tuesday, Oct. 3 at 11 a.m. ET and then go to camp with the Washington Wizards on Wednesday, Oct. 4 at 11 a.m. ET before visiting each of the four NBA teams training in Europe during the first week of the preseason series.
 
NBA TV Real Training Camp once again will give fans an all-access pass to practices, daily workouts, training session, players, coaches and front-office executives as teams prepare for the upcoming NBA season. Aldridge and Rick Kamla will host the series and travel on-site to camps providing daily updates, exclusive player interviews and breaking news.
