Joe AllanJoe Allan

I was born and raised in a rural town, outside of Sudbury, Ontario. My passion for sports is evident throughout my education. I have participated and officiated in both team and individual sports throughout my lifetime. At 21, I graduated from the Sporting Goods Business program at Sir Sandford Fleming College in Peterborough. In November of 95 I moved to Canada’s Capital – Ottawa.

My passion for sport has followed me across the province, and I have been fortunate enough to fill the nets for the Ottawa Senators when one of their goalies is unable to attend a practice. This has further fuelled my passion for understanding the business of sport. It was here in Ottawa, the summer of 2002 that I came across SportsBusinessNews.com In speaking with publisher Howard Bloom, I was informed that he would be an instructor in the program for which I had just registered – a post diploma Sport Management degree at Algonquin College. After an entire year interning with SBN, Howard Bloom has since hired me on in the position of Associate Publisher. I have completed research projects and special reports for SBN. I fully intend to help SBN further its goal of becoming the number one website for which media, fans and industry moguls go to, in order to get their sports business information.

The business of sport has become an integral part of the North American landscape, and in time, I hope to be able to share with others the many aspects of the business. Along with his continued committement to SBN, Joe is a Senior Account Executive with the Ottawa Lynx, the Baltimore Orioles Triple A baseball franchise.
